Moyasimon: Tales of Agriculture by Masayuki Ishikawa YP FIC ISHIKAWA

Tadayasu Sawaki has a strange gift: he sees germs. Not quite as creepy as seeing dead people, but it has made people treat him like a freak his whole lide. However, all that changes after coming to agricultural college and meeting Professor Itsuki. Itsuki wants to use Tadayasu to further microbial science, but soon Tadayasu meets fellow students that want to use his gift to make quick cash. Tadayasu will have to decide what his gift is really for and how he wants to use it in this quirky comedy debut.

Well this is a first for me. I have never read a microbial manga before and I doubt it will be quite as big as giant robots and magic school girls. This is a surprisingly funny and very informative manga. All the plot lines are based on real science and just in the first volume there are lots of fun and funny ways that Tadayasu uses his powers. This is a pretty realistic manga is plot, character, and art and there is LOADS of information about microbiology, fermentation, and agriculture, so it isn’t for everyone. But if you want a manga that’s funny and a bit different AND you don’t minf learning cool new factoids, then give Moyasimon a try.
